Summer is a time to assess the work we’ve accomplished and plan and prepare for the school year ahead. As we reflect on the past year, we wanted to share a few Center for Teaching staff highlights that didn’t make it into our newsletter during the academic year.

  • Assistant Vice President for Student Success Mirra Anson, Center Director Anna Flaming, and Associate Director Sara Nasrollahian won a POD Network Research Grant for their project SoTL as a strategic imperative for enhancing teaching and learning excellence at a research-intensive institution.

  • Center for Teaching student partners Harry Bui and Krushi Patel won Student Travel Awards from the Office of Undergraduate Research.

  • Associate Director Eva Latterner, Sara Nasrollahian, and Anna Flaming were co-authors along with seven UI faculty members and former postdoc Casey Wright on an article in Teaching & Learning Inquiry.

  • Associate Director Sara Nasrollahian was named United States Vice President of the International Society for the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning Board of Directors.

  • Assistant Director Allie Brandriet co-authored a chapter of Engaging Students in Organic Chemistry Volume 2.
