Summer is a time to assess the work we’ve accomplished and plan and prepare for the school year ahead. As we reflect on the past year, we wanted to share a few Center for Teaching staff highlights that didn’t make it into our newsletter during the academic year.
Center for Teaching graduate assistant Yetunde Mabadeje won a Career Development Award from the Professional and Organizational Development (POD) Network.
Assistant Vice President for Student Success Mirra Anson, Center Director Anna Flaming, and Associate Director Sara Nasrollahian won a POD Network Research Grant for their project SoTL as a strategic imperative for enhancing teaching and learning excellence at a research-intensive institution.
Center for Teaching student partners Harry Bui and Krushi Patel won Student Travel Awards from the Office of Undergraduate Research.
Associate Director Eva Latterner, Sara Nasrollahian, and Anna Flaming were co-authors along with seven UI faculty members and former postdoc Casey Wright on an article in Teaching & Learning Inquiry.
Assistant Director Tamar Bernfeld, and undergraduate student partners Krushi Patel, Harry Bui, and Madeline Nugent published an article in the International Journal for Students as Partners.
Associate Director Sara Nasrollahian was named United States Vice President of the International Society for the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning Board of Directors.
Assistant Director Allie Brandriet co-authored a chapter of Engaging Students in Organic Chemistry Volume 2.
